Hi Sue – I tried to set up a reciprocal arrangement, exactly as the one you describe, with an almshouse in Norwich, but failed. I broached the idea as a kind of ‘twinning’ between our almshouses. I think it would be a great idea – the visiting residents would, of course, need to be vouched for by their own Clerk/Warden (wouldn’t want just anyone visiting on the cheap!), but it could be an interesting and more affordable way for residents to visit other places and meet the wider community of almshouses and residents.
