Just to add to the discussion and perhaps clarify, I was not necessarily advocating a twinning type arrangement as that would disadvantage those Almshouse residents who happen to live in an Almshouse community where there is no provision of a guest room
As a result it makes it more difficult and expensive for their relatives or friends to visit them
If there was an opportunity to book Almshouse guest room accommodation close to their relatives it may really help them out to maintain contact and retain their independence by planing a visit / mini holiday to get away to see their relatives or friends in other parts of the country
