We’ve been using Excel but it’s getting complicated! I’m familiar with Data Developments from doing church accounts but wondered what else worked well. Thanks Hilary 6th January 2025 at 11:39 am #145400 MandyParticipant (1144) Hi I use ClearBooks and find this works really well. I look after a number of almshouse charities and therefore have a free Accoutants package with each charity set up as a client at a cost of Ā£10 a month per charity. I looked at Sage and Xero but found them to be much more expensive and far too complex for our needs. Hope this helps. It does do much more than we need, but it also does everything that we need. 24th February 2025 at 2:24 pm #150817 Tina CollinsParticipant () I recommend Quick File. It is very reasonable with no monthly subscription to pay. 28th February 2025 at 10:23 am #151597 nanderson1Participant () I use Xero and have found it excellent and easy to use Our accountant can review the books remotely and see the accounts on line if i ever have a query it also works out the pay for the wardens and the tax/NI which it will also automatically pay every month Regards Neill 5th March 2025 at 12:37 pm #151760 HartsParticipant () I have used Quickbooks for many years both for Almshouse work and another charity. Getting expensive but well worth it. Easy to use 5th March 2025 at 1:52 pm #151777 William ClemmeyParticipant (1646) We use SAGE line 50 which works for us 10th April 2025 at 10:53 am #155190 Margaret RookeParticipant (32) I use Sage along with Decorus for Sage and works very well. 11th April 2025 at 11:49 am #155288 Tina CollinsParticipant () For small charities, I would recommend investigating Quick File. There are no monthly costs and if you have under 1000 transactions per year it is free. You can connect your bank feeds for Ā£15. It is so simple to use. I have an associate who can set your charity up on QF using a csv file from last years accounts. We have just completed this for three charities with a minimal expense to the chair and a massive saving long term with the reduced inputting required. 11th April 2025 at 2:30 pm #155302 AnonymousInactive () Another vote for Xero. Very user friendly and easy to use. Author Posts Viewing 11 posts - 1 through 11 (of 11 total) You must be logged in to reply to this topic. Log In Username: Password: Keep me signed in Log In
