Up until very recently, our Charity has employed a Chaplain who is the vicar of the church on our site but also provides pastoral support to our residents, in return for free accommodation and the majority of services charges paid for by the Charity.
I wondered if any other Almshouses do anything similar as we would love to understand more about what other services are doing and if we can learn from the experiences of others as we move forward with the recruitment process. Because of our church being on the same site as our accommodation, we are planning to work in partnership with the Diocese, who have ownership/oversight of the role along with us.
Thank you in advance for any advice/thoughts/shared experience on this subject.

We employ a Chaplain at our two Almshouses to provide chapel services and pastoral support for residents, staff and our Trustees, as well as having links to the local parish, in conjunction with the local Diocese.

I would gladly share our experiences of recruitment / job role / challenges and benefits etc

    email me at ceo@wyggestons.org.uk

    Thanks Chris
