Well – according to Mr Google, The Procurement Act 2023 came into effect on February 24, 2025, changing how public bodies in the UK buy goods and services. The act aims to make public procurement more efficient, transparent, and fairer.
Almshouses are charities and not public bodies (unlike, say, the NHS and the MOD (PE)). So, no, it’s absolutely nothing to do with almshouses.
