We have an applicant who has an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order. He was convicted of a sexual offence in 2021 and sentenced to 44 months, half of which he spent in prison. The only other information we have is that the offence was one of no- contact. We have permission to speak to the applicant’s Offender Manager and a letter from the applicant setting out his steps in rehabilitation.

Does anyone have experience of dealing with this type of application? Our almshouse community is unlikely to be suitable but I want to be sure of our legal position before we either ask for more information or decline the application. I’ve done some research and can only find guidance for employers not landlords
