The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills, a flexible and proactive approach and a background in supporting elderly, vulnerable people.

Basic computer literacy is desirable as is an NVQ Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care, or a willingness to progress towards this. This position is subject to an enhanced DBS check.

The role, supporting the Scheme Manager, will involve monitoring the well-being of our residents through regular visits, addressing concerns, actioning property maintenance and repair issues with our contractors and occasionally deputising for the Scheme Manager. The role does not involve providing any personal care to residents.

Experience in the caring, social housing or charity sector would be ideal for this role which will entail working 27 hours per week in return for a salary of c. £13k. The core hours of work will be between 08.30 and 14.00 (or alternative to be discussed) Monday to Friday with willingness to be one of several designated people for very occasional callouts outside the core hours, to respond to emergencies.

Three local charities seek to appoint someone with excellent administrative and managerial skills who is able to relate well to older people.  Main responsibilities include:

  • Advising and providing administrative support to the Board of Trustees, including financial, legal and procedural matters.
  • Managing the lettings and maintenance of a block of 12 flats and 4 cottages (almshouses).
  • Ensuring the well-being and safety of residents.

Hours: The post is part-time (18 hours over three days)

Location: based in the office in Hampton, TW12 2HX. 

Salary: £30,000-£35,000 dependent on experience (Pro rata £14,400 – £16,800). This post is subject to an enhanced DBS check.

Trustee Vacancy – Firth Homes, Sheffield

A vacancy has arisen for the voluntary position of Trustee to assist in the management of the charity which runs these well-established alms houses situated in south west Sheffield.


Firth Homes consists of 32 flats and bungalows providing sheltered accommodation for its residents who are over 60 with limited means.

Working with a board of fellow trustees, the vacancy would particularly suit someone with an interest in the property management of the estate. Commitment is attendance at four quarterly meetings and ad hoc meetings in between as required.
