Job purpose
- To be a key member of the central support team providing administration and support across the Charity.
- To provide administrative support to all areas of the Charity, including IT and training.
Key accountabilities
- Responsible for key administrative activities and functions across the charity including incoming and outgoing post, ordering office supplies, proof-reading documents, DBS and licence checks for staff, answering phones and responding to initial admin mailbox enquiries, etc
- To support Walton Charity with IT and telephony alongside Walton Charity’s external IT services provider.
- To facilitate and coordinate the training and development of staff and trustees with internal and external resources, ensuring all training requirements are met.
- To assist the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) members by coordinating and providing administrative support for staff and trustee meetings.
- Minute-taking of trustee board and committee meetings (evenings)
- Provide governance support to SLT, and support in collating legal and regulatory compliance returns
- To liaise and provide administrative functions relating to Charities House tenants.
- Support the wider Charity on ad hoc projects

- Maintain strict confidentiality and discretion as appropriate.
- Foresee requirements of the role through good understanding of the charity’s function and key organisational requirements.
- To ensure that the Charity provides an effective response to external communications.
No role profile can cover every issue which may arise within the post at various times and the post holder is expected to carry out other duties from time to time which are broadly consistent with those described.

Essential
- Excellent administrative skills
- Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills
- Excellent IT skills (Word, Excel etc), and the ability to learn new systems
- Ability to use initiative and prioritise demands
- Good numeracy and literacy
- Team player
- Commitment to ongoing learning and professional development  
Desirable
- Good analytical skills
- Proactive approach to work
- Fire warden training or experience
- First aid training or experience
- Experience of minute-takingÂ
