It’s a fact that council tax rates are reduced to zero for 6 months on vacancy for alms houses. Does anyone know if the same applies to properties owned by the charity that are tenanted out?

Thanks Tina, but In my experience, it is best to go to the Council for armed, or you may be given the wrong information.

Thanks themac. I assume it’s yes to zero tax on tenanted property rather than yes to go to the council?

    Hi

always best to confirm with your Local Authority. The LA can set their own rules. We are fortunate in that Charities are exempt for all CT if the property is used for it’s charitable purposes no matter how long the property is empty between residents. Other LAs might not be so generous.
