Elvetham Charities: established in 1962 by Sir Richard A-G Calthorpe, Bt., to provide almshouse accommodation and
relief for individuals in need who reside in the Parish of Elvetham and Hartley Wintney.

Almshouses: offer unfurnished accommodation designed to provide convenient, comfortable, and secure independent
living. The Charity is not a care provider; residents are expected to live independently. While there is no on-site
warden at Calthorpe Houses, each home has the option of a call system for added reassurance.

Accommodation:

A one-bedroomed bungalow situated in a semi-rural setting Calthorpe Houses, Elvetham Lane, RG27 8AH

  • A lounge
  • A fitted kitchen (excluding electrical appliances)
  • A bathroom with shower
  • A bedroom
  • Access to car parking
  • Residents pay a weekly maintenance charge, currently £132.20 per week, reviewed annually.
  • Residents are also responsible for Council Tax (Band C), electricity usage & telephone costs.

Criteria:

Applicants must be able to demonstrate financial need and either:

  • Be currently residing in the Parish of Elvetham or Hartley Wintney, or
  • Have previously lived in the area and maintain a strong local connection
