To enable The Almshouse Association to offer the best service to our members, we have set up a Loans and Grants process with timelines. All Loan and Grant applications will go through a four-stage process as set out below:
- Assessment to determine whether the application for a loan/grant is eligible. Those members whose applications are unsuccessful will be offered alternative support if necessary.
- Review of the assessment and recommendation by the Grants and Loans Committee.
- Approval of the recommendation by the CEO and offer of a loan/grant to the applicant.
- Report to the Finance and General Purposes Subcommittee and Board of Trustees.
We are committed to keeping the application process as straightforward as possible – there are just three forms to complete for a loan application and two forms for a grant application. These should be completed and returned to The Almshouse Association together with the requested supporting documentation.

Applicants will normally be notified of the outcome within 15 working days of the applicable deadline.
