Charles Fifield – Policy and Engagement Officer

“I am really pleased to be able to take up this position at The Almshouse Association. Almshouses are a centuries old concept that has a continuing role in the modern world, as the exemplar form of community housing. The Almshouse Association represents over 1,600 independent almshouse charities that provide homes for around 35,000 residents across the United Kingdom. Through my experience both as Borough Councillor for 12 years and as a Chartered Surveyor for 25 years, I have come to recognise the vital role almshouses play in their communities and the opportunity their greater adoption elsewhere could provide to other communities.”
