ALMSHOUSE MANAGER

Part-time 20-25 hours per week, Monday – Friday.  Ideally mornings.  Live out. 

The Manager will act as a first point of contact and support for Residents and assist with the day to day running of the 14 apartment Almshouse.   With a professional manner and the ability to work well with people, you will help maintain the living standards and building and grounds that the charity provides.

About you

·      You will have a compassionate nature with a high level of professionalism; discreet and diplomatic. Strong communication skills.  Experience of working with people with welfare needs would be
advantageous.
·      Motivated to work well alone most of the time whilst reporting to and working closely with the Clerk.
·      Highly organised, completing an important schedule of regular duties whilst being open to quickly acting upon issues as they arise and spotting potential problems.
·      You should live close to Newport and be open to the possibility to attend out of hours, with time off in lieu. Occasional evening activities may also be out of regular hours.
·      Basic IT, reporting and written communication skills
·      A working understanding of safeguarding and confidentiality.  Maintaining records compliant with GDPR.

The role

This role supports residents at Preston Trust Homes, promoting independent living.

·      Develop and maintain positive relationships with residents and their families, contractors and suppliers, staff and Trustees.
·      Maintain the building’s clean, tidy, welcoming, safe and suitable status to a high standard.
·      Adhere to health and safety, compliance, policies and procedures, and regulations. Keep thorough and accurate records and reports.

C £25-31k pro rata depending on experience
Appointment subject to successful enhanced DBS and completion of first aid course
