Due to retirements, we are now a small group of 5 and would welcome some more to join us. Our Almshouses are based in Sutton Coldfield, Birmingham where we have been in sited since 1932, but we are a charity that was created in 1824 and was originally based in central Birmingham, with the intention of providing help to older single women. We’ve since expanded this to men as well, and some couples. The site of 34 cottages is lovingly maintained and much appreciated, quite a unique and peaceful site – but all our residents must be aged over 60 years of age and able to live independently as we do not provide care. If you are able to spare some time, and participate in our quarterly Trustee meetings (which are usually at our community room) we’d like to hear from you.
