    Hi Carolyn,
We used Nelsons last year following meeting them at an Almshouse Association event. Naomi McFadden and Gemma Hopper were very helpful and practical and their rates seem to be fair. They had good knowledge of the specifics which apply to almshouses. They also gave advice to help us get further in future disputes before involving solicitors in order to keep costs down. I expect their details are on the Almshouse Association list – it would be worth looking them up.

in reply to: Does anyone use CAF for banking? #171560

    Hi Sarah,
We have been with CAF Bank for about 5 years – since we set up as a CIO – and we’re very happy with them. The customer service is really good and I agree with Lana that the call centre staff are very helpful. You also get a specific person to help you set up the account and for on-going queries.
They recently introduced a new on-line platform which had teething issues but it seems to have settled well. It’s a bit clunky and a generation behind the high street banks – eg there’s no app and no facility to bank cheques on-line. However, you can now bank cheques and cash at the Post Office. It’s well set up for charities and there is now great flexibility within the online system to control exactly who can view, set-up or approve online payments including deciding how many authorisers are required without needing to involve bank staff.
It would definitely be worth contacting them to discuss your specific circumstances.
    Best wishes,
    Tim
