Many thanks to everyone for your feedback on this query. The majority of our residents would not be able to carry out their own tests. We have decided to opt for quarterly in house checks when we undertake our pull cord testing.
Our Fire Risk Assessor’s thoughts on this course of action are.
“This guidance is based on government guidelines. However, if you can evidence a less frequent level of testing is sufficient, we would advise keeping that evidence available for inspection, if needed. I would still advise monthly testing but understand the challenge of carrying that out in your buildings.”
