    My first reaction would be that this is not your problem but theirs. If indeed a divorce is being sought (and I agree it is best to be doubly sure that is their intention as opposed to just talking about it) then I feel it would be doubtful that a divorce court would finalise a divorce whilst the parties were still living under the same roof – unless there was firm evidence that they were not living as husband and wife or perhaps (not applicable here) where it is a large house with perhaps a separate annexe. I suspect your residents are not that wealthy but even so some legal arrangements will need to be made to finalise their financial affairs in the form of a court approved settlement . That will be linked and dependent on where each is intending to live given housing costs are significant. It could be that because of these formalities the couple do not divorce and continue to live at your almshouse flat. I would bide your time, personally and await developments.
